Dr. Larry J. Clark -- Principal

Dr. Larry Clark is a graduate of Bainbridge High School. He attended Morehouse College where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Health and Physical Education. The following summer, he enrolled at Florida A&M University and later completed double Master's degrees in Middle Grades Education and Health and Physical Education. Dr. Clark later enrolled at Troy State University where he earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. He then enrolled at NOVA Southeastern University and earned an Educational Specialists Degree in Educational Leadership. A few years later, Dr. Clark began his studies toward a Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership, also at NOVA. He was fortunate to complete that program in 2001.
Dr. Clark has worked his entire career in the Decatur County school system. He has held the positions of teacher, coach (football and track), and is still the principal at Jones-Wheat! Dr. Clark has a great passion for his work. His personal philosophy is "Find a job you like and you will never have to work a day in your life." This has certainly been the situation with him because he truly enjoys working with the parents, students and staff at Jones-Wheat Elementary!!
Ms. Lauren Turner -- Assistant Principal
Ms. Lauren Turner received her Associate's degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Then, she earned a Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Valdosta State University. Ms. Turner received her Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from VSU as well. She is joining the Jones - Wheat staff with 24 years of experience in education. She has taught first, second and seventh grades. Ms. Turner is the assistant coach for the Bainbridge High football competition cheerleaders, "Go Cats!". She is also a member of the First United Methodist Church, Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Teacher Sorority, Bainbridge Service Club, Bainbridge British Brass Band, Board of Directors of the Department of Family and Children's Services and the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society. Ms. Turner also supports the art by being a patron to the Bainbridge Little Theater. Some of her hobbies include working in the yard, spending time with her family,and spending time with the "Circle" and watching the Bearcats and the Georgia Bulldogs !
