1999-2005---- 71,252 pounds of paper  recycled

Our recycling program began in 1999 when we went to WAR against litter and began recycling materials to get rid of an extra industrial size dumpster at our school. We have since included the recycling program into a special education classroom curriculum. Students learn to be responsible and work together to make this program a successful program.

Picking up paper on a daily basis

is an essential part of the program

Recycling takes a team effort

Potter Street Recycling Program has developed over many years of continuous efforts by the students, teachers, staff members, parents and community partners. The WAR project has helped take children from not recycling and knowing anything about recycling to knowing the importance doing ones part to keep our World healthy and clean by their efforts of recycling. Our motto is "Potter Street Students, We're the Best, We're the ones that will Lead the Rest!" We hope our efforts in recycling will lead others in our community and state to begin recycling programs in their own school.
