ANNOUNCEMENTS:

· · October is National Breast Cancer Month.  Encourage the females in your family to get their yearly mammograms and to do self checks every month.  Early detection is the key to successful treatment.

· Red Ribbon Week is going to be October 22-26th.  Parent notices about the week’s events will be sent home the week before.

· We need you to continue to send in the Campbell’s soup labels and Box Tops for Education.  Make sure that your child’s name is clearly printed on the back.  We have begun drawing for ice creams on Fridays for all of the students who have brought these in.  Unfortunately, we are no longer able to collect the Harvey’s receipts.

· If your child is going to travel home by means that are not how he/she normally do so, please send a note so your child’s teacher will know.  If we do not receive a note your child will not be allowed to change their normal route.

· Our school is participating in the Belk Charity Day Sale.  The classroom that sells the most tickets will win a pizza party.

· Pam Alexander will be visiting all students who met their AR goal for the 1st nine weeks of school on October 24th.  You can check out our school’s website at www.dcboe.com/wbe.  All of the AR quizzes and prizes along with other useful information is located on there.

· We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of the parents and sponsors who helped make our Family Fall Festival such a great success.  We could not have done it without you.
