Tuesday night, BMS hosted an exciting Math and Science Curriculum Night that sparked curiosity and hands-on learning for both students and families. The event showcased engaging activities, inviting attendees to explore key concepts in fun and interactive ways. It was a wonderful opportunity for the community to see how BMS brings math and science to life through innovative teaching methods.
6th grade Science students traveled through space using VR headsets, experiencing a virtual journey around the solar system that deepened their understanding of planets and celestial bodies. Meanwhile, seventh graders took a closer look at life’s building blocks by investigating cells through microscopes, gaining a hands-on perspective of biology that complemented their classroom lessons. In 8th grade Science, students explored physical and chemical changes with a friendly competition using the interactive floor.
The math activities were just as engaging. Sixth graders practiced calculating mean, median, and mode using the Lu interactive wall, reinforcing their data analysis skills. Seventh graders used the interactive floor to master integer operations, turning abstract numbers into physical movement and play. Eighth graders competed in an inequalities game created with Canva AI, making algebra concepts enjoyable and competitive. It was a great night for all who attended, filled with learning and laughter. Be sure to keep an eye out for information on the upcoming Spring Curriculum Night!
