BMS has just wrapped up the first 6-week Woz Ed STEAM class rotation. This rotation offered a variety of hands-on learning experiences tailored to each grade level, engaging students in technology, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The STEAM class as well as the other connection classes are designed to offer students an overview of the diverse pathways available upon their transition to BHS, enabling them to make more informed decisions about their future career aspirations.
Sixth grade students concluded their STEAM class learning by exploring the fascinating world of drones and their applications in natural disaster relief. They learned how drones can be used to assess damage, deliver supplies, and assist emergency responders in critical situations. This real-world connection helped students understand the impact of technology in helping communities recover and stay safe during emergencies.
Seventh graders showcased their creativity by designing different types of animations, including stop motion and claymation. It was inspiring to see how each student embraced their animation projects with enthusiasm and curiosity. Meanwhile, eighth grade students enjoyed the thrill of 3D design by creating their own models in Tinkercad and bringing them to life with the school’s 3D printer. This hands-on experience gave them a glimpse into modern manufacturing and design technology. The 25-26 school year has successfully started and the stage is set for more innovative learning adventures ahead.
