Exciting Day 1 at Decatur County Schools Summer STEM Camp!
In Grades 1-4, students dissected owl pellets to learn about food chains and built solar ovens to roast marshmallows tomorrow! They also explored how different things get energy from the sun!
Meanwhile, Grades 5-8 were busy engineering LEGO robots, coding them to move exactly as planned--using their math know how! Collaboration and teamwork were in full swing!

DCBOE will be closed Thursday, June 19, through Friday, June 21 in observance of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth honors the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the U.S. learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It’s a day to reflect, learn, and celebrate freedom and progress.

📚🤝 Decatur County Schools had the honor of hosting the Rotary Club of Bainbridge for their recent monthly meeting at Bainbridge Middle School!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club, its dedicated members, and President Tommy Howell — who served in leadership at Decatur County Schools for many years — for their continued support of our students and schools.
