Bainbridge High School Celebrates Black History Month
This month, we celebrate the achievements, learn the history, and honor the legacy of Black Americans whose contributions have shaped our nation and our world.
At BHS, we want our students to know that today’s learners are tomorrow’s history makers. Your voice, your actions, and your dreams matter.
We learn. We honor. We celebrate. We continue the legacy.

Coach DuBose Is Keen on Community Outreach
Bainbridge High School Head Football Coach, Jamey DuBose, met today with the Keenagers of Bainbridge. The Keenagers are an older adult group that meets on the first Wednesday of each month at Bainbridge First Methodist Church for a time of great food and fellowship, along with hearing from speakers from in and around our community.
Today, Coach DuBose shared how his work goes beyond building players on the field to building a community of young men grounded in character, accountability, and respect. He spoke about the importance of mentorship, teamwork, and service, emphasizing that the lessons learned through athletics extend far beyond the game and into everyday life. His message reinforced the impact of investing in young men and strengthening the community as a whole.

The BHS Band had the privilege of Dr. Demetrius Scott working with our students today as they continue to work hard and prepare for their state performance assessment on February 24th! Dr. Scott brought a fresh perspective and ideas to the group!
Thank you to the Decatur County Schools Foundation for help make this opportunity possible for our students, and thank you Dr. Scott for spending some time with our students!

The Bainbridge community came together at Willis Park Gazebo to officially welcome Coach Jamey DuBose as the new Head Football Coach of Bainbridge High School!
The evening kicked off with an energizing welcome performance by the BHS Band Drumline that drew in the crowd, followed by opening remarks from Principal Christopher Bryant. The invocation was delivered by Jose Bonilla- Ortiz, a student member of the BHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Athletic Director Rex Wade formally introduced Coach DuBose, who shared his excitement and vision for Bearcat football, before closing remarks from Superintendent Dr. Boyd English.
Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community members who joined us to celebrate this exciting new chapter for Bainbridge High School athletics. With a proud tradition and a promising future, the Bearcat way is moving forward with confidence. 🐾🏈

Flu season is upon us and here are a few reminders to help keep our schools healthy :
🦠 Wash hands often with soap and water
🦠 Cover coughs and sneezes
🦠 Keep students home if they have a fever or flu-like symptoms
🦠Students must be fever free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medications before returning to school
🦠Consider talking with your child’s health care provider about the flu vaccination
🚨🤒When to keep your child home:
If your child has a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, severe cough, or feels unwell please keep them home and allow time to recover before returning to school.
💜 Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students, staff, and schools healthy throughout flu season.

This recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the strength of the partnership between JCI, Decatur County Schools, our design team, and the many local subcontractors and craftsmen who brought these spaces to life. Successfully delivering two complex, high-impact projects—while keeping safety a top priority and our school community at the forefront—was truly a team effort.
We are incredibly proud of what these buildings represent for our students, educators, and the Bainbridge community. Thank you, JCI, for your partnership and for helping deliver facilities that will serve generations to come.
