🎉 Catapult Challenge in Mr. Perry’s ELT Class! 🚀

Over the last few weeks in Mr. Perry’s ELT class, students have been designing, building, and testing homemade catapults! Teams dove into engineering, teamwork, and creative problem solving — and they clearly understood the assignment from the very first launch.

Competitions were held across three thrilling categories:
Distance: Which catapult could fling the projectile the farthest?
Tower: Which design built the sturdiest launch platform and structure?
Accuracy: Which team could hit the target dead center, every time?

The room buzzed with measuring, tweaking, and cheering as students adjusted angles, swapped materials, and celebrated successful launches. Great work, everyone — innovation, perseverance, and collaboration were the real winners these past weeks. Can’t wait to see what the class next builds!

Students in Ms. Rambo's 8th grade science classes put physics into motion — testing potential vs. kinetic energy. They measured how stored energy converts to motion, recorded results, and compared predictions to outcomes. Curious minds + hands-on experiments = big learning!

Biscuits for the Best at Bainbridge Middle School 🥰

Each month, Decatur County Schools and our friends at SunStop celebrate the incredible educators and staff who make our schools shine through Biscuits for the Best because when you’ve got the best, they deserve the biscuits! 💛

This month’s celebration was held at Bainbridge Middle School, where staff were treated to a warm breakfast and plenty of appreciation. Superintendent Dr. Boyd English, directors from the Central Office, and our friends from SunStop joined in to welcome teachers and ensure they had a sunny day! ☀️ Even Sunny, the SunStop mascot, stopped by to brighten everyone’s morning! 🌞

We’re so thankful for SunStop’s partnership in helping us recognize the amazing BMS team!

Thanks to Sam Hughes of Decatur County Sheriff's Department and Decatur County 4-H for visiting Ms. Rambo’s Extended Learning Time (ELT) class and for leading the bow-and-arrow STEM challenge. His clear lesson on potential and kinetic energy through shooting a bow gave our students a meaningful, hands-on way to connect science with real‑world activity. We are very grateful for your time. Your support means a great deal to our school and community.
