🏆 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROOKIE ALL-STARS! 🏆

We are beyond thrilled to announce that Team 11214, the Bainbridge High School robotics team the [CY]BEARCATS #1121, have officially been named the Rookie All-Star Award winners for the Galileo Division at the 2026 FIRST Championship in Houston! The World Championship hosts roughly 600 of the top teams from over 3,000+ global competitors. To win this on the Galileo Division means the [CY]BEARCATS were selected as the standout rookie team from a field of dozens of world-class programs.

The judges had some incredible things to say about the team's culture, "This team has succeeded in creating a culture of connection. Full of purple, they exude the core value of FUN, bringing time, grit and work together. They made the judges’ choice easy."

This award isn't just about building a robot; it’s about building a foundation. It recognizes a first-year team that truly "gets it"—exemplifying the mission of FIRST to inspire the next generation of scientists and technologists while fostering a strong, sustainable partnership effort.

From the long hours with their robot to the iconic purple fedoras on and off the field, the grit and passion of these students, mentors, and sponsors have paid off on the world stage.

Day 1 at the 2026 FIRST Championship is a wrap! The [CY]BEARCATS #11214 spent the day scouting, tuning the bot, and meeting our incredible fellow competitors.

One of the best parts of being here at the George R. Brown Convention Center is the "Coopertition." Whether we’re sharing tools or discussing match strategy, the energy in the pits is unmatched. We’re especially excited to rub elbows with powerhouse teams like The HOT Team (67) and Killer Bees (33) today! And to meet some of our other favorites, like BombSquad(16). Of course we have to shout out our mentor team, The Commodores (6919) and all the other Georgia teams here in Houston!

Good luck to everyone competing. Let’s have a great day 2!

During the most recent Board of Education meeting, our district-level winners of the 2025–2026 Southwest Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency (SWGA RESA) Young Authors Writing Competition were recognized for their outstanding creativity and talent! ✍️📚

This recognition means more than just an award. Each of these students was selected as the top writer for their grade level across the entire district, with their work standing out for creativity, originality, and strong voice. Their writing now moves on to represent our district at the regional level through SWGA RESA.

It represents hours of imagination, hard work, and the courage to put thoughts into words. Writing allows our students to share their voices, tell their stories, and connect with others in meaningful ways. Each of these young authors has demonstrated not only skill, but heart, and that is something truly special.

We are incredibly proud of these students and the bright futures ahead of them. Keep dreaming, keep writing, and keep sharing your voice with the world. 🐾💛
