Prom weekend is here, and at Bainbridge High School, our focus is simple: keep our students safe.
This morning, our juniors and seniors took part in a powerful Prom Safety Program that brought the reality of impaired and distracted driving into clear focus. Through hands-on experiences, students saw how quickly one decision can change everything.
We are grateful for the support of our community partners, including the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Bainbridge Public Safety K-9 Unit, Decatur County Crime Scene Unit, Survival Flight EMS, Bryant’s Funeral Home, Rathel’s Auto Parts, Collision & Salvage, and Rathel’s Towing, as well as Principal Bryant and the BHS administration for making this program possible.
This message goes beyond prom night. It’s about every choice, every time our students get behind the wheel.
Bearcats—take care of yourselves and each other.
Drive Smart. Stay Safe. Make every mile a memory—not a mistake.

Attention Parents and Guardians,
Decatur County Schools is currently experiencing a shortage of bus drivers. This has created significant challenges that may impact bus routes as well as student pick-up and drop-off times.
We are working diligently to transport students as safely and efficiently as possible. If any route changes occur, we will notify parents and guardians as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
We are actively hiring bus drivers. If you or someone you know is interested, please visit the HR link below for more information:

The [cy]BEARCATS #11214 had an absolute blast this past weekend at Rivertown Days! It was a beautiful day to be out in the community, but the real highlight was meeting so many future engineers and robot enthusiasts. 🤖✨
The star of the show was our robot, KitCat, hard at work demonstrating its competition moves! We showed the crowd how it targets and shoots balls (our "fuel") high into the hub, just like it does in the heat of an FRC match.
🍫 Interactive Robot Fun!
But we didn't want KitCat to have all the fun. After showing off its aim, we turned the bot toward the kids, who got to:
Catch the balls launched by the robot! 🤲
Take their own shot into the hub! 🎯
Earn a KitKat bar for their sharpshooting skills! 🍫 (A fitting prize for a team that loves its robot, KitCat!)
It was the perfect way to celebrate our brand-new robotics team at Bainbridge High School. Seeing the excitement on those faces as they interacted with the tech reminds us why we do what we do!
We are so proud to represent BHS and the Bainbridge community. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi, ask questions, and "fuel up" with us! We hope to see you as we compete in Albany at the Civic Center on March 27 and 28. Admission is free and the excitement is real. Come join us and wear purple to show your Bearcat Pride!

After consultation with Decatur County 911 and receiving the latest weather briefing from the National Weather Service out of Tallahassee, FL, Decatur County Schools will be closed on Monday, March 16, 2026.
The school closure is due to the potential of dangerous winds and inclement weather that is expected to impact our area Monday morning.
