Bearcat fans, this one will go down in the books. ⚽️
In one of the most electric matches EVER, BHS Boys Soccer fought their way to a HUGE first-round State Playoff win on Centennial Field!
Backed by a packed home crowd and the full force of the Bearcat community, our boys fed off the energy all night long. Every touch, every save, every shot had the crowd locked in and pushing them forward.
After a tough 2-2 battle through regulation and overtime, it came down to penalty kicks. That’s where the Bearcats stayed composed, executed, and finished the job. 💥
GO CATS! 💜💛

What an exciting time to be a Bearcat!
This week, the Bainbridge High School Football Team took the field for their first practice under new Head Coach Jamey DuBose, and you could feel it from the very first whistle.. the field was buzzing, the hits were loud, and the intensity? 🔥 Off the charts!

From drills to full-contact reps, every snap carried purpose. Every player brought effort. Every coach demanded excellence. This wasn’t just practice… this was the beginning of something special.

The Bearcats showed up ready to work and Coach DuBose is already setting the tone for what this program is going to be about.
There’s a new level of intensity in the air… and it’s contagious. GO CATS!

The Piece That Holds It All Together 🧩🚛

Meet Xander. Every successful robot needs a solid frame, and every successful team needs a Xander. On the [cy]BEARCATS we are lucky to have Xander in our crew.

From mastering the ratchet straps on the trailer for the road to GRITS, to preparing for our upcoming trip to Worlds, Xander is the definition of "ready for anything." He knows that excellence isn't just found in the code or the CAD—it’s found in the helping hands, the bottled water handed out during a long build, and the dedication to doing whatever it takes to keep the team moving forward.

Xander says, "Being a part of FIRST has given me a lot of unique experiences, and I've learned a lot of new things. This team has given me opportunities like no other, and I'm very happy to have been a part of the puzzle that is this team."

Xander has discovered that there are a thousand ways to support a dream, and he’s mastered finding the right support for each occasion. He isn't just a "part" of the puzzle; he’s the reason all the pieces fit together.

Xander, the glue that keeps us all together.

The BHS Lady Cats Soccer team left it all on the field Tuesday, April 21, playing with heart, determination, and true Bearcat grit in their playoff game. While the result didn’t fall in our favor, their effort and resilience never wavered. ⚽️🔥

This team wraps up an incredible season as Region Runner-Up — a huge accomplishment worth celebrating! 👏

Great Job Lady Cats, for representing Bainbridge High School with pride and passion all season long. You’ve made your school and community proud!

The Heart of the Story 📝✨

Meet Penny. Every great team needs a voice, a strategist, and someone who ensures no detail is left behind. That person is Penny.

As the Communications lead and Award Submission designee for [cy]BEARCATS #11214, Penny is the reason our team’s impact is seen and heard. She started her journey wondering where she fit in, but through roles like Safety Captain and Team Storyteller, she discovered a truth we already knew: she is capable of anything she sets her mind to.

Penny says, "Being a part of FIRST has shown me that I'm capable of doing more than I thought I could. It opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't realize I was actually able to accomplish and has also shown me my place within the team."

Penny’s dedication to building up others and her meticulous attention to detail aren't just "tasks"—they are the glue that holds our team together. She didn't just find a place on the team; she helped build a better team for everyone else.

BHS Band & Drama students had such a great time supporting Sarah Langdon and her band at Bainbridge Little Theatre this weekend for Music in The Woods! 🎭🎵

It was such a neat opportunity for our students to hear live music, support a fellow young performer, and be inspire by someone just days from graduating from Florida State University College of Music. We love seeing our students support the arts and continue learning beyond the classroom!⭐

Congratulations to BHS 4-H students on their performance at the 4-H District Modified Trap Qualification Match on Thursday, April 16. The following students participated and qualified for the next level of competition at the state match in May: Winston Brock, Cole Henderson, Charlie Smith, Judson Dollar, and Langston Bennett. Also, participating in the qualification match were Maddie Chapman and Gavin Hughes. Charlie Smith advanced to the double rounds as a tiebreaker for top high school individual after hitting 25/25 targets. Additionally, Winston Brock represented the team in doubles after the team tied for 3rd place. High school 4-H’ers must break 20/25 targets to qualify for the state match. Thank you to all of our parents and student-athletes who came out for Physical Night. We appreciate your time and commitment to getting ready for the upcoming seasons.

A big thank you as well to the doctors who volunteered their time to serve our student-athletes at BHS and BMS. Your support makes a difference.

A few quick reminders:
• Create your parent profile in Final Forms first, then add your student
• You can upload photos of your completed physical directly into Final Forms
• Be sure everything is completed before fall sport tryouts begin to help ensure a smooth check-in process

🔥 Glassblowing in Action at BHS! 🔥

Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to experience a live glassblowing demonstration by talented artist Kelly Robertson and Cavalry Studios! From start to finish, they watched as raw materials were transformed into beautiful works of art—including a seahorse, vase, and fish.

Experiences like this bring learning to life and spark creativity in ways that last far beyond the classroom.

A huge thank you to the Decatur County Schools Foundation for making opportunities like this possible for our students. Your support continues to open doors and inspire the next generation!

Mr. Kelley's chemists stepped up their game this year by adding 3D printed components to their rockets for extra flair and aerodynamics! Students had to mathematically calculate a precise amount of 'fuel' to use for maximum propulsion, and then develop a process for launch that left them dry and not smelling of vinegar (we only had a few pickles walking around afterwards!). Shout-out to Mr. Chad Griffin for teaching 3D design and printer use!
