Recently, Decatur County Schools hosted Industry Night, showcasing the innovation and hands-on learning taking place across our district.

In partnership with WOZ ED, Georgia Institute of Technology, and FIRST Robotics, the event highlighted how engineering, technology, manufacturing, and marketing are integrated across every grade level — from elementary through high school.

Guests experienced elementary students demonstrating LEGO SPIKE Prime robotics projects, middle school teams fresh from the state tournament presenting their competition robots and explaining their design process, and high school AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Program) students showcasing award-winning, student-designed race cars.

Attendees also met our new FIRST Robotics Competition team, who shared their robot and goals for the upcoming season, and explored Bella & Buddy’s school store to see how entrepreneurship and marketing skills are embedded across programs.

Industry Night demonstrated the strength of our K–12 pipeline — developing technical skills, design thinking, problem-solving, and workplace readiness at every level.

Thank you to our community members who joined us and continue supporting expanded opportunities for our students. Together, we are building a stronger talent pipeline for Decatur County.

Our JWP teachers and staff were treated to a delicious Biscuits for the Best breakfast, generously sponsored by SunStop Stores! It was a wonderful way to start the day and celebrate the incredible educators who pour so much into our students every single day.

Members of the Central Office team, and our friends from SunStop stopped by to help serve up appreciation—and Sunny the SunStop mascot was the highlight of the morning! The kids were thrilled to see Sunny, filling the halls with waves, hugs, and lots of excited smiles ☀️

We are so grateful for community partners like SunStop and for the amazing team at JWP who make a difference in the lives of our Bearcats each and every day.
