Bearcats CAN and We Will End Hunger! 🐾

Our community food drive is underway — November 3–14!
Let’s come together as a community to make a difference for local families this holiday season. 🛒 Every can counts!

Here’s what to donate:
✅ Nutritious Non-Perishables – Think canned tuna, beans, whole grains (brown rice, pasta), and low-sodium soups
✅ Pop-Top Lids – Easy-open cans for convenience
✅ Kid-Friendly Options – Peanut butter, granola bars, and other healthy, shelf-stable snacks
✅ Cooking Basics – Olive oil, spices, and seasonings

Let’s show what it means to live The Bearcat Way — caring, giving, and serving our community. 💜💛

💡 What is ESPLOST?
ESPLOST stands for Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. It’s a locally approved 1% sales tax used exclusively for education-related construction and improvements — helping fund facilities that benefit future generations of Bearcats. This tax has already been in place here in Decatur County, and allows our schools to grow and improve.
NOTE: As we examine the sample ballot, the measure for the ESPLOST renewal states, "Continuance of 1% Sales/Use Tax & Bond Issuance for Decatur County School District".

The Power of Choice: Tie Tuesday at New Beginnings Learning Center

At New Beginnings Learning Center, a recent Tie Tuesday event brought a powerful message to life about the importance of the choices we make and the paths we take.

The young men of the Tie Tuesday Gentlemen’s Club participated in the barbershop-style gathering, which created a welcoming space for open and honest conversations. As students received free haircuts, they engaged in meaningful discussions about life, choices, and character with mentors from the community.

This program is designed to build confidence and connection, reminding students that their voices matter and that the choices they make today shape their futures.

Decatur County Schools extends sincere appreciation to the community members who volunteered their time to pour into our youth and offer encouragement and guidance.

Building trust, creating connections, and investing in our students is what it means to live The Bearcat Way.

🎉 What an incredible Homecoming Week in Bearcat Country!

From the Downtown Homecoming Parade to the Friday night lights, our community showed up in full Bearcat spirit — students, staff, families, alumni, and neighbors all celebrating the proud traditions that make Bainbridge shine.

This weekend, the BHS Mega Reunion gathered at the Boat Basin, where generations of Bearcats reconnected, reminisced, and reminded us all what it means to bleed purple and gold. 💜💛

And now, as we kick off Red Ribbon Week, that same Bearcat pride continues to grow. Fall in Bainbridge, Georgia, has a way of reminding us that this entire community bleeds purple and gold — and you know what they say… once a Bearcat, always a Bearcat.

Enjoy a look back at the special moments from the Downtown Homecoming Parade — the smiles, the spirit, and the pride that unite us all.

Thank you, Bainbridge and all of Decatur County, for standing side by side to celebrate our students, support our seniors, and cheer on our Bearcats. This is what community looks like. This is The Bearcat Way! 🐾
