As we prepare for the start of Georgia Milestones testing next week, our students came together to compete in 12 academic stations and 6 fun, trivia-based challenges. This experience was designed to reinforce key skills, boost confidence, and make learning both meaningful and enjoyable ahead of a week that can often feel stressful.
A huge thank you as well to our incredible student volunteers from the BHS Anchor Club, Basketball Cheer team, and Key Club. Their time, energy, and leadership helped make this event a success!

Georgia Milestones testing is right around the corner! Please take note of the following dates for Decatur County Schools:

The Bainbridge High School Robotics Team#11214 ARE HEADED TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!
On behalf of the entire school system, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that FRC Team 11214 [CY]BEARCATS has officially qualified for the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston!
This past Saturday, April 11th, our students capped off a spectacular debut season by capturing the prestigious Rookie All-Star Award. for the Peachtree District of FIRST Robotics. This isn't just a win for the team; it is a historic milestone for our entire school community.
🌟 What This Means for Our District
The Rookie All-Star Award is one of the highest honors a first-year team can receive. It recognizes the team that most exemplifies the spirit of FIRST through community outreach, professional leadership, and technical excellence. It speaks to the students work and mentors work
To see our students achieve this level of success in their very first year is a testament to:
Student Excellence: Their dedication to engineering, coding, and strategic problem-solving.
Mentorship: The tireless hours our coaches and mentors have invested in these young leaders.
Innovation: A bold reminder that our district is a hub for the next generation of STEM pioneers.
🚀 Next Stop: Houston!
The [CY]BEARCATS are now preparing to take their talents to the global stage, competing against the best teams from around the world. We are incredibly proud of how they have represented our schools, showing grit, "Gracious Professionalism," and unwavering team spirit.
Congratulations, [CY]BEARCATS! You’ve shown us all what’s possible when passion meets hard work. We’ll be rooting for you all the way to Texas! Let’s show them the full support of our community as they gear up for the World Championships.

This weekend at the Peachtree District Championships, something bigger than a trophy is happening. Our ROOKIE FRC team, [CY]BEARCATS #11214, is situated right next to Team 3091, the 100 Scholars.
Who are the 100 Scholars?
They are the powerhouse robotics program of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta, fueled by a deep partnership with NASA. Led by NASA legend and inventor Dr. Lonnie Johnson, they work to bridge the "opportunity gap" for students in Georgia.
Our Full Circle Journey:
In 2014, the 100 Scholars planted the seeds of robotics in our small rural town with the help of Dr. April Aldridge. After reviving our FLL program at Bainbridge Middle School last year (and taking it all the way to Georgia Tech!), we launched our first-ever FRC team at Bainbridge High School this fall.
Today, we aren’t just competing; we are continuing a legacy. Sponsored by the NASA Robotics Alliance Grant, the [CY]BEARCATS have been building bridges all year—connecting CTAE pathways to industry leaders. Standing proudly next to our original mentors at the State Championship is the ultimate "lift-off."
Thank you, 100 Scholars, for the vision, the outreach, and the opportunity. As we head into the final day, we’re looking over the horizon at what’s next, while honoring the bridge that brought us here.
It’s a great day to be a [CY]BEARCAT! Let’s do this! 🚀

If you can dream it, [cy]BEARCATS #11214 designer, Joel, can model it. As our team’s CAD and 3D-printing lead, a key build team member, drive team operator and coder...Joel spends his time turning complex ideas into tangible reality—one layer at a time.
Joel says, "Because of the FIRST robotics program, I no longer look at the world's problems as someone else's responsibility. I now have the skills, the network, and the drive to be the solution."
Joel understands that the real "modeling" happens outside the software. FIRST Robotics has shifted his perspective from being a spectator to being a strategist. He has realized that the same logic used to solve a mechanical failure on a robot can be used to tackle the challenges facing our world.
To all the designers of FIRST we see you proving that when you have the right tools and the right mindset, no problem is "someone else's responsibility." Keep designing the future!
